Q : 1. What does Taekwon-Do mean?
A : Tae denotes the foot, or a strike with it. Kwon denotes the hand or a strike or block with the hand. Do means art or way of life. Therefore we can say that Taekwon-Do stands for the Art of Foot and Hand Techniques.

A : False. Charyot means attention stance.

Q : 3. How long is walking stance?
A : Walking stance is approximately 1 and a half shoulder widths long. It depends on the individual's body. But the general rule is one and a half shoulder widths.

Q : 4. When was Taekwon-Do founded?
A : Taekwon-Do was officially founded on April 11, 1955 by General Choi Hong Hi. General Choi developed Taekwon-Do while teaching his soldiers unarmed combat. The fact is that before 1955 there was no such thing as Taekwon-Do. It is not a "style" of Karate or Taekyon, it is a separate Martial Art.

Q : 5. How many degrees of Black Belt are there?
A : There are 9 degrees or "Dans" of Black Belt. This is because 9 is the lowest single digit number.

Q : 6. What is the highest level a front snap-kick can be executed?
A : It can be executed up to your solar plexus level. This is because at any point higher than your solar plexus, the body starts to bend backwards causing you to lose or compromise your balance.

A : The first stance in Chon-Ji Tul is a left walking stance. This is because the left foot is in front.

Q : 8. Master Choi Jung Hwa is the founder of Taekwon-Do.
A : False. General Choi Hong Hi is the Founder. Master Choi Jung Hwa is his son.

A : All of the above. White belt signifies innocence and purity of someone who has no previous knowledge of Taekwon-Do.

A : There are 19 movements in Chon-Ji Tul. This does not count ready stance.

Q : 11. Who is Dan-Gun?
A : All of the above. Dan-Gun was the legendary founder of Korean who was born through the union between the god Hwang-Ung and a she-bear whom he taught how to become a human.

A : The 12th movement of Dan-Gun Tul is a left Gunnun so nopunde jirugi. Gunnun So(gi) - Walking Stance, Nopunde - High, Jirugi - Punch.

A : I.T.F. is an acronym for International Taekwon-Do Federation which was founded by General Choi Hong Hi on March 22, 1966.
